TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Several factors must be considered to judge whether a city is the most livable for its residents. Those factors are public facilities, places of worship, clean water, education, health services, transportation, and many more.
According to the Indonesian city planning association or IAP (Indonesian Association of Urban and Regional Planners), there are at least 7 best cities to live in Indonesia. The list is derived from its 2022 survey based on residents' perceptions on 28 indicators such as health facilities, food security, transportation, security, waste management, and government services in each city.

1. Solo
The first city to be named the most livable is Solo. Located in Central Java, this city achieved the highest MLCI score at 77.1 among other cities in Indonesia. This city in Central Java Province achieved the highest MLCI score among many cities in Indonesia. Solo has good infrastructure, organized city planning, and various facilities for its residents. Solo also has a natural beauty and a rich cultural heritage.
2. Yogyakarta

With an MLCI score of 72.5, Kediri is one of the most livable cities in Indonesia.
