TEMPO.CO, JakartaThe West Java City of Bandung will hold several festivals this weekend. Tourists and locals can enjoy various cuisines and watch the Asia-Africa Cultural Carnival on July 6-7, 2024. The events are held at Cihampelas Walk and Jalan Asia-Afrika in the city center.

This week, Cihampelas is hosting an event called Creative Market from June 29 to July 7. There are also Industrial Center and Tofu Festivals from July 2 to 7. The Industrial Center Festival, organized by the Bandung government, involves 18 businesses ranging from fashion, handicrafts, dolls, and footwear.

Bandung Trade and Industry official Galih Praasih said that the participants were from the Cibaduyut shoe industrial center, Binong Jati knitting and doll manufacturing center. According to him, the industrial center is a strong economic player, even during the Covid-19 pandemic.

"This is proof that they are resilient and strong in carrying out an economic turnaround so that they continue to produce," he said in a written statement on Tuesday, July 2, 2024.

There are 18 participants in the Tofu Festival. They process tofu, locally known as tahu, as the basic ingredient into various culinary delights such as baso tahu, kembang tahu, batagor, mochi, and even donut. There are also lumpia tahu, gohyong tahu, pempek tahu, cuanki, crispy tofu, tahu brintik, and spicy gehu.
