List of Countries that Recognize Indonesia's International Driving License

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta -  International driving permit or international driving license is ruled under the 1968 Vienna Convention on Road Traffic. Currently, 92 countries have signed the convention. This way, dozens of countries recognize international driving licenses from Indonesia.

Quoted from the United Nations Treaty Collection page, the following countries recognize international driver's licenses from Indonesia:

International driving license requirements 

To get an international driver's license, several requirements must be met, including:

- Latest self-photo with the following conditions: (the photo shows 2 upper buttons of your shirt, the background color should be white, do not wear a white color shirt and/or hijab, no glasses, face facing the camera, no contact lenses, the photo should not be black and white, no teeth visible)

- ID CARD

- KITAP (foreigners only)

- Valid passport

- Valid driver's license (according to the international driver's license class that will be applied for)

- Your signature on a white paper written with black ink

- Valid International Driver's License (extension only).

How to Make an International Driving Permit

The process of making an International Driver's License can usually be done at the local Police Traffic Unit office or by visiting the site siminternasional.korlantas.polri.go.id.

- Open the siminternasional.korlantas.polri.go.id page in your browser

- Register according to the procedures and requirements on the site.

- Fill in the online registration form and upload soft copies of your photo, signature, driving license, KTP, KITAP (for foreigners only), and passport

- Choose how to collect/deliver the International Driver's License Book

- Fill in the Refund Account Data. If the applicant's data does not match, the PNBP fee will be refunded

- Applicants receive a Virtual Account Number on the Website and Payment Confirmation by Email. Make payment immediately according to the nominal amount stated

- After making payment, the applicant will receive a Registration Number in the Proof of Registration email.

Manufacturing Costs

- The cost of making a new International Driving Permit is Rp250,000.

- The cost of making an extended International Driving Permit is Rp225,000.
