TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A Maluku`s village of Sawai in Seram Island, today rocked by an earthquake of 4 magnitudes at 7:01 a.m. It was said to be lower compared to the earthquake that occurred at dawn.
“The epicenter is at 22 kilometers southeast of Sawai, at 3.14 South Latitude and 129.25 East Longitude," the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) wrote on its official Twitter account on Tuesday, December 18.
The hypocenter was at 10 kilometers. The earthquake felt in Amahai, Central Maluku, on a scale II-III.
Previously, the earthquake also rocked West Southeast Maluku, 4:29 a.m., at 7.58 South Latitude (LS) and 128.98 East Longitude (BT), 264 kilometers southwest of West Southeast Maluku in the sea. The depth of the quake was at 164 kilometers.
