TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The high intensity of rain between Karawang and Padalarang stations limited the movement of the KCIC's Jakarta-Bandung High-speed train Whoosh on Thursday afternoon.
KCIC General Manager Corporate Secretary Eva Chairunisa apologized for the delay of the Whoosh Fast Train on Thursday afternoon, April 25, at 16:32 local time. Eva said that officials had earlier received an alarm from the rain monitoring system, which detected heavy rain at KM 41+629 to KM 80+845.
"To ensure travel safety and to anticipate potential hazards, train speeds to be limited in areas of high-intensity rainfall," Eva said in a written statement on Thursday, April 25, 2024.
To compensate passengers for delays in the arrivals and departures, KCIC distributed food and beverages at each departing station.
KCIC continued to monitor weather conditions around the route of the Whoosh high-speed train to ensure the train could operate safely. "As weather conditions improve, the Whoosh speed will gradually be increased again," he said.
Eva said that monitoring of things that could disrupt the trip has been done to ensure that the Whoosh trip is safe, smooth, and trouble-free.
