TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A video went viral showing an ambulance being shot with tear gas after evading police personnel at the day the anti-omnibus law protests took place on Tuesday, October 13, was located at Central Jakarta’s Cikini.

Central Jakarta Metro Police chief, Grand Commissioner Heru Novianto clarified that the ambulance had been ordered to stop by police personnel but he claims the driver had ignored their orders.

“He then stepped on the accelerator and even tried to run over police members, which made police even more suspicious,” said Heru to Tempo on Wednesday, October 14.

According to him, three ambulance personnel were arrested and are currently undergoing police questioning at the Metro Jaya Police headquarters.

The anti-omnibus law mass protests by a number of mass-organizations on Tuesday, October 13, ended in clashes between a group of protesters and authorities securing the event.
