TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Metro Police said Firli Bahuri's absence in yet another probe session today is inappropriate and unreasonable. Today, Thursday, Dec. 21 was supposed to be the inactive head of KPK's third probing session in the case of extortion against former Minister of Agriculture Syahul Yasin Limpo.
"Investigators will release and deliver the second summon toward the suspect [Firli Bahuri]," said the Director of the Special Crime Investigation Department of the Metro Jaya Police General Commissioner Ade Safri Simanjuntak in a statement on Thursday.
Ade did not explain in detail when the summon for Firli would be delivered.
Firli was scheduled to be probed about his wealth, and the wealth of his wife, children, and family. "Investigators found another evidence of other unreported assets or wealth," he said, referring to the LHKPN, a report of public officials' wealth.
According to Ade, Firli failed to explain the wealth during the previous probing session. Meanwhile, investigators are authorized to ask about Firli's wealth and the wealth of his family under Article 28 of the Corruption Eradication Law of 1999.
Jakarta Metro Police investigators received the notice of Firli Bahuri's absence today through his head attorney, Ian Iskandar, dated Dec. 20, 2023.
When asked about the notice, Ian Iskandar confirmed that "[we] have asked for a postponement to Metro Jaya Police investigators on account of an overlapping activity."
