TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - KCIC (Kereta Cepat Indonesia China) will operate a total of 48 Whoosh high-speed train trips during the long weekend period from May 9-12, 2024. There will be up to 28,000 available seats each day. KCIC General Manager Corporate Secretary, Eva Chairunisa, said there has been an increase in transactions ahead of the long weekend, with the highest number of purchases for May 9 departure. The date coincides with the national holiday of the Ascension of Jesus Christ.
"Sales were above 75 percent on the Halim route to Padalarang or Tegalluar for May 9," she said in a written statement on Wednesday, May 8, 2024. Eva also explained that the Whoosh high-speed train departure schedule from 06:40 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. was the most sought-after at the time, with ticket sales above 90 percent.
During the upcoming long weekend, KCIC will also implement dynamic pricing to provide alternative fares to all prospective passengers. Ticket reservations can be made from D-14 via the Whoosh application, the KCIC page, and the station counter.
KCIC also limits what passengers can carry onboard to ensure comfortability. "Each passenger can only carry 3 pieces of luggage with maximum dimensions of 100cm x 30cm x 40cm with a maximum total weight of 20kg," she said. Passengers can carry three items: suitcases, boxes, and backpacks.
Meanwhile, Whoosh prohibited several items onboard, including pets, narcotics, firearms and sharp weapons, flammable items, items with strong smells, and several items. Eva also urged passengers to arrive 30 minutes before the set departure. "Pay attention to the departure schedule, time, and station. Don't forget to mind the travel time from home to the station so you don't miss the train," she concluded.
