High-speed Rail Whoosh Offers 48 Trips per Day, Tariff Starting at Rp150,000

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - High-speed rail Whoosh has set 48 trips per day in May 2024 with the tariff starting from Rp150,000. General Manager of PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC) Corporate Secretary, Eva Chairunisa, said that her office is again implementing the dynamic tariff scheme. She claimed that the scheme produced a positive result for the operation of Whoosh and passenger service.

"With the dynamic fare, passengers have more ticket options that can be adjusted to their plans and purchasing power," Eva said in a written statement on Saturday, May 4, 2024.

Based on the evaluation of the previous period, Eva said her company decided to increase the number of regular trips to 48 per day. This month, she continued, the need for regular trips increased to 20 percent compared to April's regular trips of 40. 

The number of Whoosh high-speed rail trips continues to increase, Eva added. The daily trip was only 14 during the first operation. 

"With the increase in the number of trips, people have more alternatives to travel schedules and can adjust to their needs. Passengers can be more flexible in planning their trip because there are more schedule options," she said. 

The first departure from Halim Station is at 06:40 and from Tegalluar Station at 5:50. The last departure from both stations is at 20:30. All the schedules are set according to the needs of the passengers.

The ticket can be booked up to 14 days before the day of departure and can be purchased through official ticketing channels such as the Whoosh app, ticket.kcic.co.id website, ticket vending machines, and at stations, as well as partner apps such as Access by KAI, Livin by Mandiri, BRImo, dan BNI Mobile Banking.
