TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta-owned bus operator Transjakarta is revitalizing 46 bus stops, which include four iconic bus stops, four integrated shelters, and the rest were regular ones.
To overcome the density of passengers, the regional-owned firm provided shuttle buses.
“For Transjakarta users, we have prepared a shuttle bus at every bus stop that is being revitalized on the left side,” said the company’s president director M. Yana Aditya at Hotel Borobudur, Central Jakarta, on Wednesday, June 15, 2022.
Yana claimed he could not yet talk of the project development and ensured there would be a monthly evaluation. On traffic congestion near the project, he said it must be confirmed to the Transportation Agency.
On Tuesday, March 15, Yana explained that his side needed a budget of around Rp600 billion for the revitalization project from the company’s deposit.
Transjakarta’s director for technical and digital affairs Mohamad Indrayana on April 13, 2022, said 46 bus stops need to be revamped because they could no longer accommodate passengers, at old age, and are located in the public center.
Additionally, Transjakarta is determined to prioritize bus stops integrated with other transportation modes, such as MRT Jakarta, LRT Jakarta, and Greater Jakarta Commuter Line or KRL.
