Previously, the agency issued an early warning of potential coastal or tidal floods in Aceh up to Papua on June 11-23, 2022, as a result of the supermoon phenomenon.
“One of the factors causing the tidal flood is the supermoon on Tuesday, June 14, 2022,” said the agency’s head of the maritime meteorology center Eko Prasetyo.
The air temperature ranges from 19-33°C with the lowest temperature in Bandung, while the highest temperatures would be in Banda Aceh, Denpasar, Gorontalo, Semarang, Surabaya, Pontianak, Palangkaraya, Kupang, Makassar, and Medan.
The BMKG further forecasted that the tidal flooding might occur on the southern coast of Bali on June 14-18, in the coastal area of Pontianak, West Kalimantan on June 14-22, and in Maluku, particularly the coastal area of Ambon Island, eastern Seram, South Buru, Kai Islands, Aru Islands, and Tanimbar Islands, on June 14-17, 2022.
