TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Brawijaya University (UB), and Microsoft Indonesia have agreed to collaborate on artificial intelligence (AI) and digital talent development. The cooperation is contained in a memorandum of understanding signed by Brawijaya University Rector Widodo and Microsoft Indonesia President Director Dharma Simorangkir on Tuesday, April 11.
Widodo said that all aspects of life are transforming towards digitization, including the teaching and learning processes, and in order to realize this, collaboration with Microsoft as one of the leading companies in the field of AI is deemed inevitable
"With Microsoft, we hope to provide knowledge and competency certification in the digital and AI fields to students. The certification is expected to be an added value for graduates that can enable them to be more easily absorbed in the work industry," he said in an article published on the UB website on Wednesday, April 12.
Interestingly, he said the collaboration will open artificial intelligence courses for every faculty in an attempt to broaden the utilization of the technology and spark new innovations.
The Brawijaya University Rector hopes that with the help of AI, students, and lecturers can use it as a co-pilot in conducting research or business decisions. This is so that students and lecturers can carry out a critical thinking process and be more creative because routine tasks can be done with the help of AI.
