TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The police have questioned 12 witnesses in the Cyber 1 Building fire in Mampang Prapatan, South Jakarta.

“Some witnesses are still under investigation. We have questioned 12 people. Previously, there were four people. The results of the forensics laboratory have not come out yet,” said South Jakarta Police Chief Sr. Comr. Azis Andriansyah at his office on Monday, December 6, 2021.

Azis said the police had yet to name any suspects in the fire, in which two people were killed. “There are no suspects yet. We are also still looking into the cause of the fire. That is why our colleagues at the forensics laboratory need more days to investigate this,” he said.

According to Azis, the police could not yet confirm as to whether there were intentional motives behind the fire.

“We cannot yet confirm if the fire was part of an accident, neglect, carelessness or intention because we need more evidence,” Azis said.

The Cyber 1 Building caught light on Thursday, December 3, 2021 at noon and killed two people.
