TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Mandalika Grand Prix Association (MGPA) president announced the stepping down of the MGPA sporting operations head Dyan Dilato, following the news on the postponement of the Idemitsu Asia Talent Cup (IATC) final rounds at the Mandalika International Circuit.

MGPA is the subsidiary of the Indonesia Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC), responsible for overseeing motor racing at the West Nusa Tenggara circuit.

“MGPA received the official resignation from Dyan Dilato as of November 15, 2021,” said MGPA president director Ricky Baheramsjah on November 16.

The final rounds of the Asian Talent Cup was supposed to be held on November 14 but has been postponed to this racing weekend after Dorna deemed there were not enough marshals available trackside.

In his statement, Ricky implied that Dyan Dilato - former seasoned motorcycle racer - had unfortunately made an offensive comment criticizing the work of the marshals and that the company apologizes for his statement.

“We understand that insults and anything in the field [regarding Dyan] is unprofessional. Representing the company, organizers offer our apology for his statement that offended the people of West Nusa Tenggara, especially the marshals,” Ricky wrote in his statement.

He assures that MGPA and every stakeholder will work professionally upon hosting the World Superbike (WSBK) final round in the newly-built Mandalika Circuit.
