KEK Mandalika Garners Rp1.5 Trillion Investment from 7 Investors

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) and seven investors inked an agreement on the development of KEK Mandalika or Mandalika Special Economic Zone. The seven investors include PT Arena Pacu Nusantara, PT ARCS House, PT Istana Putri Mandalika, PT Ecomarine Indo Putra; PT Anjasmoro Sukses Mandiri; PT Star Motorsport Indonesia (Porsche) and PT Nora Jelajah Indonesia.
"As far as I know, [the total] of investment amounted to Rp1.5 trillion," Ari Respati, the President Director of ITDC said in a press conference on Wednesday.
In detail, through the agreement, PT Arena Pacu Nusantara will develop the Horsetainment Estate arena for horse racing. ITDC and PT ARCS House will develop Hotel Jambuluwu and Hotel Novotel with PT Istana Putri Mandalika.
.PT Ecomarine Indo Putra will cooperate with ITDC's subsidiary to develop ITDC Nusantara Properti and Circuit Cafe. Meanwhile, PT Anjasmoro Sukses Mandiri is planning to develop hotels and commercialization, PT Star Motorsport Indonesia (Porsche) will develop Mandalika Circuit Experience and PT Nora Jelajah Indonesia for Mandalika Racing Experience.
"The development is all ongoing. The planning stage will probably take 2 to 3 months," Ari said.
On the other hand, the founder of PT Arena Pacu Nusantara Aryo Djojohadikusumo explained that his company invested Ro400 billion for the next 5 years. "For the first phase, the initial investment is Rp100 billion," he said.
The entirety of the company's investment will be utilized to fund the development of a horse racing facility and other equestrian sports such as field polo and beach polo. Aryo also said the company is planning to develop a horseback archery center.
