TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Mataram Hotels Asociation (AHM) in NTB reported that the MotoGP Mandalika championship which is scheduled for October 13 to 15, 2023, is boosting hotel occupancy rates up to 90 percent in Mataram.
The head of AHM Made Adiyasa Kurniawan mentioned on Thursday that domestic and foreign audiences that bought the MotoGP tickets are set to arrive tomorrow morning, contributing to 85 to 90 percent of the hotel occupancy. "The occupancy rate ranges from 75 to 80 percent today," he said.
According to Made, the 90 percent occupancy rate technically means that the hotel is full since hotels usually spare 10 percent of hotel rooms in anticipation of all kinds of issues. These issues include damages to the room facilities, namely AC and toilets. "It also anticipates guests who potentially arrive later than others," Made added.
The 10 percent spare room allocation is reportedly to be the strategy from hotel management to ensure the guests' comfort and safety.
Meanwhile, hotels are set to provide bonuses for guests intending to watch MotoGP, Made said, by giving out free merchandise from local MSMEs. These merchandise include scarves, t-shirts, snacks, or free dinners with local menus.
"Everything is a result of collaboration with MSMEs in Mataram City, so they could also enjoy the benefits of MotoGP," Made concluded.
