M6.3 Earthquake Jolts Sulawesi Island's Gorontalo

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) on Wednesday reported a magnitude 6.3 earthquake hitting the region of Gorontalo at 07:34 Indonesia Western Time (WIB).
The agency’s report state that the quake originated 69 kilometers southeast of Bonebolango in Gorontalo and came from a depth of 138 kilometers.
The tsunami warning was not triggered by the quake.
Based on social media comments from users based in Luwuk, North Maluku, and Tentena, the earthquake jolted locals which had them flee their houses immediately due to the strength of the quake.
