TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - An earthquake measuring 5.6 on the Richter scale jolted South Solok, West Sumatra, Thursday, February 28, at 06:25 local times.

The National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) spokesperson, Sutopo Purwo Nugroho, said that the quake had no tsunami potential, and no report on casualty thus far.

The tremor lasted for two to three seconds in Pasaman Regency, South Solok, Padang, and Bungo, Jambi.

The earthquake epicenter was located in 1.40 degrees south latitude and 101.55 degrees east longitude, 38 kilometers northeast of Pasaman or 46 kilometers northwest Bungo Sea, Jambi, with a depth of 10 kilometers.
