JCI Gains in Post - IDX Floor Collapse Opening

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) opened today's trade normally after yesterday's mezzanine floor collapse disaster that left 77 people injured. Bourse official said today's trading activities are not affected much by the incident.


The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) opened today's trade at 6,386 or 19 bps higher than yesterday's close. This year so far, the index has recored 13 days of gains and six days of correction.

The IDX also inaugurated the listing of LCK Global Kedaton as its 567th issuer. The company held an IPO, IDX's first for 2018, and is now listed in the exchange under the stock code LCKM.


IDX director for corporate assessment Samsul Hidayat said on Tuesday that due to yesterday's incident, the building's Tower 2 is closed for public. Anyone cannot enter the tower without security permit.

The mezzanine floor of IDX's building's Tower 2 collapsed minutes before 12:00 Jakarta time. Seventy-seven people were injured during the incident and were taken to hospitals in Jakarta immediately.
