TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - University of Indonesia Construction Expert Yuskar Lase suggested that the hallway on the mezzazine floor of the Stock Exchange Indonesia (IDX) or BEI building that still survives cannot be used anymore. On Monday, January 15, some of the hallway collapsed around 12:00 Western Indonesia Time (WIB).
"The remaining hallway will have an impact," Yuskar said when contacted by Tempo on Tuesday, January 16.

According to him, the remaining hallway will experience overstretch and excessive deformation. The remaining hallway must be checked and should not be left alone. "It can continue. It attracts each other," he said.
Yuskar said the collapsed hallway will also have an impact on other buildings around it. But the impact does not affect the entire building. "Only to the near ones."
If the management wants to keep using the remaining hallway, building construction should be fixed. They can use columns or buffers for the remaining hallway. "Because, usually if collapsed, other parts will also collapse too, especially to other buildings," he said.
