TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The annual event that coincides with the city’s anniversary, Jakarta Fair Kemayoran (PRJ) predictably attracted more than four million visitors since its opening on May 22 up to June 19.
“My prediction is that it’s passed the four million mark and that is considerably high,” said Marketing Director PT JIExpo Ralph Scheunemann on Wednesday.
The amount of visitors this year, he said, is not that different to last year but with a slight increase which according to Ralph is helped by the friendly weather that surely affects a visitor’s shopping experience at the exhibition which features 2,700 brands and 1,500 exhibition stands.
Another factor that also helped the number of visitors is the affordable entry fee from Monday to Thursday. “There’s an improvement because of the work days affordable tickets,” he said.
Scheunemann is eyeing to attract 6 million visitors up to the last day of the Jakarta Fair and hopes to reach business transactions up to Rp7.5 billion throughout the process with 11 days remaining.
The fair that has become a tradition for Jakartans and residents of neighboring areas is held from May 22 up to June 30th. The entry fee for Monday is set at Rp25,000, Tuesday – Thursday Rp30,000, while the weekends from Friday to Sunday charges Rp40,000 per visitor.
