Jokowi, Heru Budi to Attend Jakarta Fair 2023 Opening Today

14 June 2023 08:29 WIB

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo will attend the opening of the Jakarta Fair or PRJ 2023 at Jakarta International Expo (JIExpo) Kemayoran today, June 14.

Marketing Director of JiExpo Kemayoran, Ralph Scheunemann, said the President will be present accompanied by a number of the Indonesia Onward Cabinet ministers and Jakarta Acting Governor Heru Budi Hartono.

“That's the plan, [the President will come] with several cabinet ministers and Jakarta Acting Governor,” Ralph said in Jakarta, Tuesday, June 13, as quoted from Antara.

He confirmed that the opening ceremony of the annual fair to commemorate Jakarta’s anniversary will start at 7 p.m. which is centered on the main stage.

As in previous years, the opening ceremony will be enlivened by fireworks.

This year’s Jakarta Fair will be held for 33 days from June 14 to July 16 at JIEXPO Kemayoran, Central Jakarta.

Ralph said 1,500 booths from 2,500 companies will open, offering diverse products at discounted prices.

“What is exciting is that approximately 60 percent [of the companies] are from the private sector and 40 percent are MSMEs,” Ralph said in a press conference in Jakarta, Wednesday, June 7.

JiExpo Kemayoran General Manager Oki Setiawan said the entrance ticket price has not changed. Since last year, the ticket has been divided into two categories; the exhibition ticket and bundling which include a concert ticket. “[The ticket price] starts from Rp50,000, (including) Jakarta Fair entrance tickets,” Oki said.

To anticipate long queues at the Jakarta Fair ticket booths, the organizers opened online ticket booking through the official websites jakartafair.co.id and eventguide.id.
