Jakarta Fair Ends 39-day Exhibition; Generates Rp 7.3 Triliun Turnover

18 July 2022 09:41 WIB

TEMPO.CO, JakartaOne of the most significant and long-running exhibitions Jakarta Fair has logged a total turnover of Rp7.3 trillion and attracted 6.9 visitors in its 39-day event from June 9 - July 17. This urban festivity celebrating the city’s anniversary returned in 2022 after a 2-year hiatus due to Covid-19.

“After not hosting the event due to the pandemic, this year, roughly 6.9 million visitors generated a total income of Rp7.3 trillion,” says Jakarta deputy governor Ahmad Riza Patria in the Jakarta Fair closing ceremony on the evening of July 17, Antaranews reported.

According to event organizers, the event generated income just shy of its 2019 performance of a total income of Rp7.5 trillion from attracting 6.8 million visitors.

“Hopefully, with the theme of Jakarta’s re-emerging economy and the existence of the Jakarta Fair will have its own astonishing contribution,” the Deputy added.

The largest exhibition in Southeast Asia has become the main stage for local MSMEs and local products - which comprises 35 percent of the total participants - to elevate their level of competitiveness, which aligns with the city officials' vision. Jakarta Fair was participated by 2,500 brands and services with 1,500 outlets at the single location of the festival.
