TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko Widodo or Jokowi visited victims of the earthquake and tsunami in Palu and Donggala, who are treated in an emergency hospital at Mutiara Sis Al Jufri Airport, Palu City, Central Sulawesi on Wednesday, October 3.
“Approximately, the president met and greeted 23 patients one by one. He listened to their complaints and encouraged them to be patient during the recovery process,” said Presidential Secretary's Deputy for Protocol, Press and Media Bey Machmudin in a written statement.
Bey said that a number of patients will be flown to Makassar and Manado for more intensive care. Jokowi visited the patients around 10:15 a.m. local time.
President Jokowi is planned to check the handling of the victims and public facilities in a number of locations in Palu.
