TEMPO.CO, Palu - President Joko Widodo or Jokowi said the repair of the relay stations in Palu City, Central Sulawesi, took a long time due to the severe damage caused by the Palu earthquake.

“There are seven relay stations; five of them were damaged. [And] handling them takes a week or two, not a day or two,” Jokowi said while reviewing the evacuation of victims at Roa-Roa Hotel, Palu, Central Sulawesi, Wednesday, October 3.

The electricity network in Palu was totally dead for six days after the earthquake and tsunami. The government will provide several small generators. “I think the 40 percent [generators] have already provided. Later, it will be provided again,” said Jokowi.

An earthquake measuring 7.4 on the Richter scale shook Donggala, Central Sulawesi, on Friday, September 28, at 5:02 p.m. Until Tuesday, October 2, the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) noted that there had been 1,234 dead victims.
