Novel Baswedan Ready to Be Questioned

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) said that its senior investigator Novel Baswedan is ready to answer Police summons in relation to the acid attack.

“Basically, the KPK, Novel and the National Police have reached an agreement related to the questioning,” KPK spokesman Febri Diansyah said at his office on Tuesday, August 8.

Currently, Novel Baswedan is still waiting for a decision whether or not he must undergo an eye surgery. Therefore, the KPK will decide whether the questioning is to be scheduled before or after the surgery.

Based on the latest medical examination, the doctor who treated Novel said that he might need to undergo an eye surgery.

Earlier on April 11, Novel was attacked by unknown individuals with acid. As a result, he had to be treated at a hospital in Singapore.

Police said that they have sketches depicting Novel’s attackers. To this date, police remain unable to expose Novel Baswedan`s attackers.
