TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - State-owned construction company Adhi Karya said the value of the Jakarta-Bogor-Depok-Bekasi (Jabodebek) Light Rail Transit (LRT) project Phase I has been corrected. The project's value is now smaller than what was initially proposed.
Adhi Karya president director Budi Harto said the correction was decided yesterday after negotiating with Oriental, the consultant firm to the Ministry of Transportation.

"It is corrected b Rp1.6 trillion from Rp23.5 trillion," he said in Jakarta, Wednesday, June 21.
Budi said the first phase project's total value has been finalized and it is now worth Rp21.9 trillion.

Prasetyo Boeditjahjono, Director General of Railways, declined to comment on the correction. He said that an official statement related to the value of the Jabodebek LRT project will be delivered by the Minister of Transportation.
The Jabodebek LRT project has entered the construction stage. Budi Harto said the progress has reached 20 percent.
By the end of the year, Adhi Karya will spend Rp9 trillion on the project. The cost Adhi Karya paid will be replaced by the government through PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI).
The government is targeting the project's financial closing to happen this year. According to Prasetyo, all parties involved have agreed for the closing to be done before the LRT project's contract is signed.
