TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - State-owned construction company Wijaya Karya (WIKA) said that Jakarta MRT and LRT projects will be completed on time.
Novel Arsyad, human resources and system development director of WIKA, said that the MRT tunnel construction is ongoing. “So far, there have been no problems,” he said yesterday, May 10, in Jakarta.
According to him, half of the railway corridor has already been done. The Senayan and Sudirman corridors have been completed. WIKA has now turned its focus to the corridor heading to Hotel Indonesia.
According to Novel, the MRT project is 80 percent complete and is expected to be finished by 2019.
WIKA is also working on the Light Rapid Transportation (LRT) project on Kelapa Gading-Velodrome route. Novel said that the project is 40 percent complete.
He is optimistic that the LRT project will be completed before the Asian Games, which will commence on August 18.
