TEMPO.CO, California - Rumors claimed that Google is set to get involved in the television business. The internet giant is reportedly preparing a set-top box that is capable of playing video files and games.
Mashable.com reported that the set-top box will provide streaming video service like Hulu or Netflix using Android OS. The television services was reported to be published in the first quarter of 2014. To more surpirse, the device is also reported to be equipped with a motion sensor similar to the Kinect system used on the Microsoft Xbox.
Rumors on Google's interest to join the television business cannot be considered new, as The Wall Street Journal reported last month that Google will exhibited its newest device at the Las Vegas' Consumer Electronics Show scheduled to be held on January 2014. As Google make its move into the television business, other tech giants, including Intel and Amazon was said to join the company.
