Singapore Introduces 7 New Travel Experiences

5 July 2024 13:55 WIB

TEMPO.CO, JakartaSingapore is one of the top family destinations during school holidays. The city-state offers a variety of experiences for tourists of all ages. From world-class museums and theme parks to adrenaline-pumping attractions.

The Singapore Tourism Board recently announced new tourism products. Read on to explore a collection of exciting new experiences to add to your travel itinerary.

1. Trifecta Singapore

Trifecta Singapore, slated to open in Somerset in late 2023, is Asia's first ski, snowboard, surf, and skate lifestyle destination. This 4,600-square-meter facility offers a variety of activities, including surfing, skateboarding, skiing, and snowboarding.

2. HyperDrive

Opening late last year at Palawan Beach on Sentosa Island, HyperDrive promises the ultimate racing experience. This first-of-its-kind indoor gamified electric go-kart track in Asia combines realistic racing simulation with virtual reality gameplay.

3. Sensoryscape Walkway

Opening in March 2024, Sensoryscape Walkway offers a multi-sensory experience in the central area of Sentosa Island. Spanning 30,000 square meters, this visually stunning walkway replaces the former walkway and connects Resorts World Sentosa in the north to the beach in the south.

According to The Straits Times, it is one of the island's biggest new attractions since Resorts World Sentosa opened in 2010.

Inspired by the wonders of nature, Sensoryscape engages visitors through an Instagram-worthy experience that includes large-scale outdoor interactive light art, nature-inspired soundscapes, and augmented reality (AR). A highlight of the walkway is the three giant boats, 13 meters high and 25 meters wide, that frame the central sensory garden.

4. Mandai Wildlife West

Mandai Wildlife West serves as a free public gateway to explore the wonders of wildlife at Bird Paradise and the upcoming Rainforest Wild Nature Reserve. Upon arrival, visitors are greeted by a majestic 10-meter waterfall, setting the tone for an unforgettable adventure.

A winding trail leads past the falls, where you can take in the surrounding art installations or rest on the lively playground. For refreshments, visit Birds of Paradise Gelato Boutique & Sandwich Bar, known for its unique ice cream flavors.

5. Singapore Oceanarium

As part of the RWS 2.0 upgrade project at Resorts World Sentosa, the popular S.E.A Aquarium is undergoing a major expansion. Expected to open in early 2025, the transformed venue will be known as the Singapore Oceanarium.

This highly anticipated aquarium is slated to be three times larger than its predecessor and will feature interactive technology, offering even more immersive and educational experiences for visitors of all ages.

6. Harry Potter: Visions of Magic

Prepare to step into the enchanting world of Harry Potter at the immersive exhibition Harry Potter: Visions of Magic. Opening at Resorts World Sentosa in Q4 2024, Singapore will be the first Asian stop for the exhibition, which was created by British actors James and Oliver Phelps, who played the Weasley twins Fred and George in the Harry Potter films, after its world premiere in Germany in December 2023.

The upcoming exhibition will showcase various elements from the popular film series, allowing visitors to explore iconic settings, such as the Daily Prophet office and the Black family tapestry. Prepare to be amazed by interactive digital displays, architectural features, and original sound performances. Visitors can also delve into a series of captivating art spaces inspired by the wizarding world.

7. Minion Land

Universal Studios Singapore is set to unveil a brand new theme park, Minion Land, in early 2025. This exciting expansion will feature the highly anticipated Despicable Me Minion Mayhem ride, inviting visitors on an immersive adventure filled with modern projection technology.

Minion Land promises a variety of attractions, restaurants, and shops, all unified by the playful and mischievous spirit of the Minions. With the addition of these new experiences, Singapore is expected to welcome a record-breaking number of tourists in 2024, with an estimated 15 to 16.5 million international tourists expected to generate revenue of around S$28 billion or Rp338.49 trillion.
