TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Traffic Unit of the Metro Tangerang City Police added three more Electronic Traffic Law Enforcement (ETLE), or e-ticketing, cameras distributed in three locations, namely Jl. Gatot Subroto Cimone, Jl. K.H. Hasyim Ashari, and Jl. M.H. Thamrin Kebon Nanas.
According to the Head of the Traffic Unit Police Commissioner Joko Sembodo, the three locations were chosen since the streets were often congested and at a high risk of traffic violations.
"By installing in the three locations, in addition to supervising the traffic flows, ETLE will observe potential traffic violations, and prevent and anticipate crimes," said Joko, quoted from the official website of NTMC Polri today, on Friday, July 28, 2023.
However, the cameras are not yet operated. Joko said the police currently await the supporting facilities and infrastructure from the vendor and the Department of Transportation.
"After the handover, it will possibly be active in a week after, and then we will connect it to the network. For the trial run, we are still waiting for the facilities and infrastructure," Joko said.
