BMKG Reveals 20 Cities with Highest Recorded Air Temperature in Past Few Days

TEMPO.CO, JakartaIndonesian Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) released data on cities with the highest daily recorded air temperature based on the result of monitoring from 07:00 Western Indonesian Time (WIB) April 24, until 07:00 WIB April 25.

Here is the list of cities with the highest recorded air temperature:

  1. Palangkaraya, Central Kalimantan – Tjilik Riwut Meteorological Station: 35.6 degrees Celsius.
  2. Palu, Central Sulawesi – Sis Al-jufri Meteorological Station: 35.6 degrees Celsius.
  3. Sanggu, Central Kalimantan – Sanggu Meteorological Station: 35.5 degrees Celsius.
  4. North Barito, Central Kalimantan – Banyan Meteorological Station: 35.4 degrees Celsius.
  5. Malang, East Java – Malang Geophysics Station: 35.4 degrees Celsius.
  6. Ciputat, Banten – BMKG Region II: 35.4 degrees Celsius.
  7. Padang Pariaman, West Sumatra – West Sumatra Climatology Station: 35.2 degrees Celsius.
  8. Medan, North Sumatra – BMKG Region I: 35.0 degrees Celsius.
  9. Banjar Baru, South Kalimantan – Samsudin Noor Meteorological Station: 35.0 degrees Celsius.
  10. Pekanbaru, Riau – Sultan Syarif Kasim II Meteorological Station: 34.9 degrees Celsius.
  11. South Tangerang, Banten – Banten Climatology Station: 34.8 degrees Celsius.
  12. Mali Meteorological Station: 34.8 degrees Celsius.
  13. Sampit, Central Kalimantan – H. Asan Meteorological Station: 34.8 degrees Celsius.
  14. Tarakan, East Kalimantan – Tanjung Harapan Meteorological Station: 34.7 degrees Celsius.
  15. Jayapura – Sentani Meteorological Station: 34.7 degrees Celsius.
  16. Palembang, South Sumatra – Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II Meteorological Station: 34.6 degrees Celsius.
  17. Central Tapanuli, North Sumatra – FL Tobing Meteorological Station: 34.6 degrees Celsius.
  18. Nunukan, North Kalimantan – Nunukan Meteorological Station: 34.6 degrees Celsius.
  19. South Kalimantan Climatology Station: 34.5 degrees Celsius.
  20. South Sumatra Climatology Station: 34.4 degrees Celsius.

As previously reported, BMKG confirmed that most South Asian countries had been hit by a heatwave since last week. Indonesia’s scorching hot temperature, however, was not categorized as a heatwave.
