Govt Collaborates with DoctorTool in Digitalizing Health Services in Villages

TEMPO.CO, Kupang - In an effort to accelerate the digitization of health services in rural areas, the Ministry of Villages, Development of Disadvantaged Regions, and Transmigration (Kemendes PDTT) and Healthtech startup DoctorTool had just signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the Aston Kupang Hotel and Convention Center, Kupang City, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) on January 13, 2023.

The MoU was signed in a conference called The International Conference on Sustainable Rural Development In Border Areas: Rural Development Collaboration In Border Areas In the Framework of SDGs Desa.

The conference, which was attended by stakeholders in the village and development sector, marked the collaboration that will be carried out between DoctorTool and the Kemendes PDTT in providing technological solutions and training needed by rural communities in digitizing health services.

Deputy Minister for Villages, Budi Arie Setiadi, stated that through the implementation of this Conference, Kemendes PDTT also wanted to embrace and invite other countries and development partners to jointly initiate the institutionalization of a network platform for cooperation between villages, which crosses national borders.

"This is a forum for exchanging knowledge and experience, as well as discussing all matters related to village development, which actively involve the village head, or representatives of the village community itself, and not just a meeting of policy-making officials," said Budi Arie.

He also said that Kemendes PDTT has issued various programs in the field of village development, including in the field of health services and human resource development. Collaboration with DoctorTool in digitizing health services is expected to increase the effectiveness of these programs.

With the support of Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) applications and technology from DoctorTool, one of which is by means of telemedicine, access to health services is hoped to be made easier.

Rainaldo, Co-Founder and CEO of DoctorTool, emphasized the broad benefits of technology through his presentation entitled Digitalization of Health Services through the Application of Telemedicine and IoMT in Border Areas.

"In accordance with DoctorTool's vision, we as a digital ecosystem provider are determined to bring health and well-being to all people anytime and anywhere," said Rainaldo.

In compliance with Minister of Health Regulation No. 24 of 2022 which requires all health facilities to use electronic medical records (RME), DoctorTool said that they support health facilities in rural areas through integration with the SATUSEHAT platform.
