TEMPO.CO, JakartaThe Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) released a weather forecast for Monday, July 11, 2022. Some parts of Indonesia will be showered by rain.

Rain accompanied by lightning is expected to fall in Pekanbaru. Moderate rains are likely to occur in Bandar Lampung, Ambon, Mataram, and Medan.

Meanwhile, Banda Aceh, Denpasar, Yogyakarta, Semarang, Banjarmasin, Palangkaraya, Tarakan, Pangkal Pinang, Ternate, Jayapura, Manokwari, Makassar, and Kendari will see light rains.

The agency monitored two tropical cyclone seedlings near the archipelago. They are 99W Tropical Cyclone seeds observed in the South China Sea and 90W Tropical Cyclone seeds in the Philippine Sea. Consequently, moderate to heavy rain possibly occurs in North Maluku and North Sulawesi today.

The air temperature in Indonesia ranges from 17–34°C with the lowest temperature in Bandung and the highest in Medan.

High Wave Alert

The wind pattern in the northern part of Indonesia is dominantly moving from southeast to southwest with wind speeds ranging from 8-30 knots, while in the southern part, it is dominantly moving from east to southeast with wind speeds ranging from 10-25 knots. The highest wind speeds were observed in the North Natuna Sea, Banda Sea, and the Indian Ocean south of Java until East Nusa Tenggara (NTT).

Additionally, high waves at 4.0 to 6.0 meters are expected in the western Indian Ocean from the Enggano Islands to Lampung, in the southern waters of Banten to West Java, and in the South Indian Ocean from Banten to Bali-West Nusa Tenggara (NTB).
