TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Chairperson of the Indonesian Motor Association (IMI) Bambang Soesatyo asserted that the Idemitsu Asia Talent Cup (IATC) race that should have been held on the newly-built Mandalika Circuit in West Nusa Tenggara on November 14 was postponed, not cancelled.
The racing series was initially scheduled to be held on November 14 but due to unfinished preparations it was later delayed to November 19-21 in conjunction with the World Superbike (WSBK)
“IMI as Indonesia’s automotive sporting regulator, a member of the Federation Internationale Motocyclisme (FIM) through IMI deputy chairperson of motorcycling Sadikin Aksa received confirmation from Dorna Sports and the Mandalika Grand Prix Association (MGPA) that the final IATC race will be held on November 19-21,” said Bambang, who also holds the position as People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR), Speaker on November 15.
Previously reported, the IATC race was postponed after Dorna deemed the track organizers were unable to meet the minimum safety aspect to hold a race, which included the availability of eight track marshals in each post available across the Mandalika Circuit.
