Anthony Ginting Wins Head-to-Head Vs Chen Long at Tokyo Olympics

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia's men's single player, Anthony Ginting, will compete against China's Chen Long, at badminton semifinal of 2020 Tokyo Olympics, on Sunday, August 1.
Ginting won head-to-head from his opponent. Indonesian players won 8-4 at games with Chen Long. Their last meeting was at the BWF World Tour Finals 2019, when Anthony Ginting won 21-15 21-15. The recent duel was the 13th meeting of Ginting vs Chen Long.
Indonesia's men's single coach, Hendry Saputra Ho, said that the statistics could not be used as a guarantee. “Even though Anthony won, we can't say that we we'll definitely win. But we have to acknowledge Chen's physical condition and any other changes so we can set the right strategy,” he said in a written statement, Saturday, July 3.
“Of course we're glad that we have a representative at semifinal. Everyone wants to show their maximum efforts at the Olympics, not just becoming a champion. But, to give the best performance."
Anthony Ginting advanced to Tokyo Olympics semifinal after defeating Denmark's Anders Antonsen, with the scores of 21-18, 15-21, and 21-18. Chen Long, the champion of Rio 2016 Olympics, won by beating Taiwan's mainstay, Chou Tien-chen, at 21-14, 9-21, and 21-14.
