TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Transportation Minister Budi Karya Sumadi said that he is currently discussing the regulation which plans to require passengers of long-haul public transportation to undergo COVID-19 rapid tests.
This was mentioned in today’s House of Representatives (DPR) hearing with Commission V along with the COVID-19 task force.
“We will issue a rapid test tariff and everything along with that. We are discussing it with the Task Force and will be introduced in the near future,” said the transportation minister in a virtual press conference.
The requirement to undergo a rapid test is one of the many that passengers must undergo to be able to continue cross-provincial travels. Passengers will also be required to enclose a PCR test report. This plan comes after people’s mobility increased as the COVID-19 restrictions were gradually lifted.
