Eni Saragih Found Guilty in PLTU Riau-1 Graft Case

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Eni Saragih, a former deputy chief of the House’s energy commission, is sentenced to six years’ imprisonment and a fine of Rp200 million in the PLTU Riau-1 graft case.
“Defendant Eni Saragih is found guilty of committing collective corruption,” said presiding judge Yanto at the Anti-corruption Court in Jakarta on Friday, March 1, 2019.
Eni Saragih is also required to pay compensation of Rp5.087 billion and SGD40,000—equal to the amount of the bribe money and gratifications she received minus the money she had returned to the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).

Eni Saragih is also stripped off of her political rights for three years after serving her time. Eni has been found guilty of accepting Rp4.75 billion in bribe money from Johannes Budisutrisno Kotjo, the owner of Blackgold Natural Resources Ltd, and gratifications totaling Rp5.6 billion and SGD40,000 from four businessmen of the oil and gas sector.
