TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan said that the public is allowed to sue Gubernatorial Decree No. 132 of 2018 concerning the management of apartment and Public Works and Housing Ministerial Decree.
He admitted feeling better if Jakartans disagreeing to a policy submit an appeal, rather than stage a rally before the City Hall.
“It’s better to do so rather than calling 500 people and pay them to hold a demonstration every day in front of the City Hall. That’s an old way. This [submitting an appeal] is a civilized way,” said Anies in Monas area, Central Jakarta, Wednesday, February 27.

Anies lauded the petition of a judicial review to challenge his regulation as he deemed everyone has a right to take an issue to a legal path.
The city administration, Anies Baswedan added, is ready to deal with the matter. “We will later face it in the court in a civilized way.”
As reported earlier, two parties filed a judicial review against Gubernatorial Decree No. 132/2018 and Public Works and Housing Ministerial Decree No. 23/PRT/M/2018 concerning the association of owner and resident of an apartment.
The plaintiffs, namely association of Real Estate Indonesia (REI) and a public notary Sutrisno Tampubolon, questioned the issuance of the two policies without the issuance of Government Regulation (PP) that preceded both.
