TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The defendant of the case of obstructing e-KTP graft case investigation, Fredrich Yunadi, denied that he insulted the public prosecutor (JPU) with a finger movement on his forehead. He confessed that he was just tidying his hair.

"Now if I do this, I tidy up my hair, does it insult you?" he told reporters after the trial at the Corruption Court, Thursday, March 15.

Fredrich said his gestures during the trial were a common movement. However, according to the former lawyer of Setya Novanto, the excessive interpretation of the prosecutor makes the gesture considered as offensive.

"Sometimes, I also touch my mustache, does it mean that I’m insulting you? I’m confused, it was my habit, cant’ I? What’s my fault?" he said.

Earlier at the court, JPU Roy Riady protested Fredrich's finger movement on his forehead. According to the public prosecutor, Fredrich's behavior was impolite.

Fredrich's movement was commonly used by someone to accuse others as a madman. The incident occurred when JPU Kresno Anto Wibowo was asking the fact witness, a former doctor of Medika Permata Hijau Hospital, Alia Shahab.

"We objected to the defendant's attitude, he used his body part like this," Roy said as he imitated Fredrich's movement in the middle of the trial.

According to Roy, if Fredrich objected to the statements of prosecutors or witnesses, he could pass it on to the judges, not by doing such insulting movements instead. "The gesture is harassing us here," he said.

In response, the head of the panel of judges, Syaifudin Zuhri, said he did not see Fredrich Yunadi's gesture. But he asked all parties to respect the trial process. "We ask all to respect the trial," he said.
