TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) said it has questioned four members of the Bandung City Regional Legislative Council (DPRD) as witnesses in the alleged bribery case over the procurement of surveillance cameras for the Bandung Smart City program. The case has implicated former Bandung mayor Yana Mulyana.
"The witnesses were questioned about, among other things, the alleged special requests for work packages to be included in the Bandung city government's revised regional budget," KPK prosecution and human resources spokesman Ali Fikri said in a written statement on Tuesday, March 19.
The four Bandung DPRD members are Riantono, Yudi Cahyadi, Achmad Nugraha and Ferry Cahyadi. They were questioned by the KPK at the Competence Development Center for Region IV Bandung of the Public Works and Housing Agency (PUPR).
At Sukamiskin Prison, the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) also finished questioning witnesses Yana Mulyana and former Bandung city transportation secretary Khairur Rijal. "Ali said they gave statements, including those related to allegations of arrangements for various projects within the Bandung city government based on fees paid by private parties who want to win the projects," Ali said on Monday, March 18, 2024.
During the development of the case, KPK investigators have named a new suspect, Bandung City Regional Secretary Ema Sumarna.
Ema Sumarna's lawyer Risky Risgantara said on March 14 that his client was named as a suspect based on a notification letter dated March 5, 2024. He said that Ema had not yet made a decision on whether or not to have a pre-trial hearing.
