Cilacap BPBD Records 100 Houses Damaged by C. Java Earthquake

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - As many as 110 houses in Cilacap Regency, Central Java, were damaged by 6.9 Richter earthquake striking on Friday night (15/12), Cilacap Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) head Tri Komara Sidhy reported.
"The figure is temporary data collected from 15 districts out of 24 districts of Cilacap Regency up to Saturday (16/12), at 5 p.m.," he said inCilacap on Sunday (17/12).
He explained that those 110 damaged houses consisting of 18 torn down houses, 29 units with severe damage, 18 units with moderate damage,and 45 units with minor damage.
From such damage, he said, it is estimated that the loss reaches Rp 726 million.
"The earthquake does not cost any lives. However, four families consisting of 21 members evacuated," he added.
Regarding damage to infrastructure such as market and school building, he said that such data is collected by relevant agency.
