TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) detained Kutai Kartanegara Regent Rita Widyasari at detention center in KPK building, Jakarta.


In addition to nabbing Rita, KPK spokesman Febri Diansyah said that his office detained PT Media Bangun Bersama commissioner Khairudin at Jaya Guntur Police Military. Khairudin was named as a briber, "both are detained in the first 20 days," Febri said in Jakarta on Friday, Oct. 6.


Rita was named a suspect in a graft case relating to providing permit of palm oil plantation in Kupang Baru Village, Muara Kaman District of Kutai Kartanegara Regency to PT Sawit Golden Prima.

The arrest was made after the regent was investigated in KPK. Previously, she ignored a summon for an investigative interview. Rita arrived at KPK office at 12.20 p.m.


KPK has investigated dozens of witnesses relating to the three suspects Rita Widyasari, Sawit Golden Prima CEO Hery Susanto Gun, and Media Bangun Bersama commissioner Khairudin.


Rita was alleged to receive Rp6 billion from the other Hery Susanto Gun, KPK Basaria Pandjaitan said on Thursday. He mentioned that the graft was received on Juli or August 2010 for a permit to Sawit Golden Prima. KPK also confiscated her four cars allegedly given to bribe her for the permit.
