TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has said that Kutai Kartanegara Regent Rita Widyasari took Rp6 billion bribes in exchange for oil palm concession. The KPK has also named two other suspects.
“There are indications of bribes from a suspect called Hery Susanto Gun, the president director of PT Sawit Golden Prima to Regent Rita Widyasari,” the KPK deputy chief Basaria Panjaitan said today, Sept. 28.
Basaria said that Rita accepted the bribes in late July and August in 2010. The KPK deputy chairman La Ode Muhammad Syarif earlier named Rita as a suspect.
Laode said that the KPK team had searched Kutai Kartanegara Regent Secretariat office in Tenggarong, East Kalimantan. He said that the case implicating Rita was developed from another case.
Aside from Rita Widyasari and Hery, the KPK has also named another suspect, Khairudin, the commissioner of PT Media Bangun Bersama, for allegedly accepting US$775,000 or Rp6.975 billion bribes in relation to several projects in Kutai Kartanegara Regency.
