TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) will question three witnesses for Setya Novanto, a suspect of the e-KTP corruption case. One of the witnesses is Setya’s aide Corneles Towoliu.

“[Corneles] will be questioned as a witness for SN,” KPK spokesperson Febri Diansyah said at his office today, Sept. 12.

Two other witnesses are Muhammad Tunjung Nugroho, an official at the Tax Directorate General, and Home Affairs Ministry official Diana Anggraini.

Earlier on July 17, Setya was named as a suspect in the e-KTP corruption case that allegedly caused Rp2.3 trillion in state losses. Setya was allegedly involved in greasing the Rp5.9 trillion worth of the project and allegedly received Rp574.2 billion in exchange for the favor.

The KPK scheduled a probe for Setya yesterday, but the Functional Group (Golkar) Party chairman failed to answer the summons due to an illness. Golkar secretary general Idrus Marham who extend the doctor’s note from Setya to the KPK said that Setya Novanto had diabetes and vertigo.

The House speaker is currently treated at MMC Siloam Hospital in Semanggi, Central Jakarta. House of Representatives' doctor Heri Suseno who went to see him at the hospital today said Setya Novanto had vertigo after playing ping pong.
