Climber Dies After Falling into Ravine

TEMPO.CO, Magelang - Bramantyansha (19), a university student at Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta University (UMY) from Bantul, died after he fell into a ravine when he climbed Mount Sumbing in Magelang Regency on Saturday.

The report of the incident was then reported to their base camp in Yogyakarta. To follow up the report, as many as 11 people headed to the ravine through Post 2 to evacuate the victim.
At around 3:30 pm, a joint team consisting of the Semarang Basarnas (national search and rescue agencuy), the Magelang SAR, the Magelang disaster mitigation agency (BPBD), the Indonesian National Defense Forces (TNI), the National Police and the people managed to evacuate the victim from the ravine.
Heri said that the victim suffered from wound in the back of his head. At around 6 pm after he was evacuated to the base camp, the victim was pronounced dead.
