TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Aceh Governor Zaini Abdullah and the management of province-owned Bank Aceh have called on the bank’s customers not to be concerned of their money following the fire incident the bank’s headquarters on Wednesday, April 22, 2015. They said both the data and the costumers’ funds were unaffected.
“There is no need for customers to be fretful. We have coordinated with the bank, and found that the data are stored safely on the bank’s server,” Zaini said when inspecting the fire scene on Jl. Teungku Daud Beureueh, Banda Aceh on Wednesday. The building caught fire on Wednesday at around 6 a.m. local time.
The fire incinerated the entire building and killed Yudis, 32, an IT staffer, who was on duty this morning. His body was found among the debris.
Bank Aceh operations director Rusydi Adam said he could not confirm yet the estimated losses the fire incurred, adding that the fire did not disrupt the bank’s system and network. “All is running online, so the database is safe,” he said.
Rusydi said brief system disruptions were only expected at the headquarters, and called on customers to proceed with their transactions at the bank’s branches across the province.
