TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Regional Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) Head Isnawa Adji said that the Ancol Mansion apartment in North Jakarta suffered damage after the 5.6-magnitude earthquake in Cianjur earlier this afternoon.

Isnawa said a number of rooms in the apartment building were cracked. "Cracks are found at several points in the building," he said in a written statement on Monday, November 21, 2022.

The cracked walls were discovered in the lift room floors 50 and 51, the emergency stairs, and the LG floor parking spot. Isnawa confirmed that there were no casualties or evacuees due to the quake.

The loss was still being calculated. "Data collection and confirmation are underway," he added.

A powerful quake struck Cianjur Regency this afternoon or precisely at 13:21 local time. Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture reported that 46 people died and more than 100 people were injured as of 16:15 WIB.

Head of the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) Dwikorita Karnawati said the earthquake occurred allegedly due to the activity of the Cimandiri Fault. Dwikorita warned of the possibility of aftershocks.
