TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Depok Metro Police are after a man who fled after setting his wife on fire in Duren Seribu, Bojongsari Sub-district, Depok City, two days ago. The mother of four is now under intensive care at a hospital.

The police said that the case was reported by the victim's mother.

After committing the crime, the man immediately fled. "We are still pursuing him," Police 2nd Insp. Tulus Handani, head of the Children and Women Affairs Sub-directorate at the Depok Metro Police's Criminal Detective Unit, said on August 31.

According to Tulus, the victim is being treated at the Depok City General Hospital. She suffers from serious burns all over her body.

The police have not discovered the motive behind the incident. "We cannot question the victim yet. For now, we can only seek information and testimonies from the victim's parents and neighbors," Tulus said.
