TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The National Police Criminal Investigation Unit (Bareskrim) Director, Brig. Gen. Andir Rian on Thursday said that the perpetrators responsible for the alleged unlawful killing against six FPI members will be charged with homicide.

“The investigation is based on Article 351 (3) and Article 338 (criminal code/KUHP) on homicide and trutre that results in death,” said Andi on Thursday, March 4.

In the official recommendation following an independent investigation by human rights watchdog Komnas HAM, police discovered a probable alleged unlawful killing in the shooting that took place at the Jakarta-Cikampek toll road.

The Indonesian National Police named three Metro Jaya Police personnel who are believed to be incriminated in the case.

Andi also said that the police have issued a police report while continuing to investigate deeper into the case of alleged unlawful killing against the FPI members to establish initial evidence to kick start the investigation.
